A Fantasy, Fairytale Wedding in South Bend, Washington

If you know, you know. And Tiana and Kas — they know.
These two found each other the way the best love stories start — not by accident, but by following something they cared deeply about. Both voice actors, both unabashedly, enthusiastically in love with all things nerd and fantasy, they found in each other someone who didn't just tolerate the things they loved but matched them, layer for layer. The kind of person you can quote The Princess Bride to and have them finish the line without missing a beat.
Which, for the record, is the only kind of person worth marrying.
Their wedding at the Willapa Harbor Community Center in South Bend, Washington, was exactly what you'd hope for from two people like this — thoughtful, imaginative, full of personality, and layered with details that rewarded anyone paying close enough attention. Capes. Crowns. Nods to their favorite fantasy worlds are tucked into every corner of the day. It felt less like a wedding, and more like stepping into a world they'd built together — which, in the best way, is exactly what it was.
And the ring bearer. I have to tell you about the ring bearer.
A little boy. In a full bear costume. Carrying the rings down the aisle with the kind of focused, serious energy that only a small child in a bear suit can deliver. I have photographed a lot of ring bearers in my career. This was unquestionably the best one. He committed to the bit completely, and I respect him enormously for it.
The details throughout the day spoke a language that their people understood fluently — fantasy elements woven in with intention and joy, nothing feeling forced or costume-y, all of it feeling like a genuine expression of who Tiana and Kas are together. The capes moved beautifully in every photo and I will not pretend I wasn't delighted about that. The crowns caught the light. The whole day had this quality of a fairy tale that had been written specifically for these two people, because it had been.
There's a line in The Princess Bride — since the invention of the kiss, there have been five kisses rated the most passionate, the most pure. I won't make that claim about every wedding I photograph. But watching Tiana and Kas exchange their vows, I understood completely why someone wrote that line.
These two are the real thing.
Tiana and Kas — it was an honor to step into your world for a day. May your love story be the kind they're still telling five hundred years from now. Inconceivable that it could be anything less.

Leah photographed our small wedding in South Bend, WA and the photos are magical. I’m still in love with them months later! She completely understood the fairytale/romantic vibe we were looking for, and also delivered wonderful candids from the reception. Also, her prices were super reasonable and she was easy to communicate/work with. I’ve shared just a couple of my favorites from the portraits, but I swear I have a new favorite every time I look at the album. Highly recommend!!
