A Wedding on the Oregon Coast | Inn at Spanish Head | Lincoln City, Oregon
Nearly twenty years ago, I shared a tiny dorm apartment with some of the most remarkable women I've ever known. We had no idea what we were doing and absolutely no idea what was coming. What came, it turns out, was a lifetime of showing up for each other — and for me, that has meant standing behind a camera at each of their weddings, one by one, trying to hold it together long enough to get the shot.
Terralyn was there for all of them. A bridesmaid, a constant, one of those people who shows up fully for the people she loves every single time. And before she had even found her person, she told me — matter-of-factly, with complete certainty — that when her day came, I would be her photographer. I held onto that. And now here we are.
Cristo turned out to be exactly the kind of person Terralyn deserved — and watching her walk toward him on the Oregon coast, with the Pacific stretching out behind them and the people she loves most gathered close, was the kind of moment that makes nearly twenty years of friendship feel like it went both too fast and exactly right.
The Inn at Spanish Head in Lincoln City was the perfect venue. Perched right on the Oregon coast, the ocean is not just a backdrop — it's a presence. It's in the room with you, moving outside the windows, filling the air. There's a vastness to it that quietly puts everything into perspective, which turns out to be a pretty perfect setting for two people making a promise to each other for the rest of their lives.
Terralyn and Cristo opened up the mic for toasts. And I mean, they really opened it up. This couple is so deeply, genuinely loved that it felt like everyone in the room took a turn. Story after story, laugh after laugh, more than a few tears from every direction, including behind my camera. It was one of those receptions that reminds you what a wedding is actually for — not the flowers or the details or the perfect lighting, but the people. The history. The proof, laid out in story after story, is that these two have built something real and have the people to show for it.
The reception was so special - watching my old roommates (affectionately called ‘the roomies’) dancing with their little ones was surreal. Some photographers say not to mix business and friendship - but I personally love being able to capture these moments.
Terralyn and Cristo — thank you for letting me be part of this one. It meant more than I know how to say. To be trusted with this day, by someone who has watched me do this work for years and chose me anyway — that's everything. You two are the real thing, and I cannot wait to watch what comes next.
And Terralyn — I told you I'd be there!
Real Review:
I asked Leah to be my wedding photographer years before I even met my husband after seeing photos from different weddings I was apart of. Her work is phenomenal. This spring I got married and Leah was our photographer. THE PICTURES WERE PHENOMENAL!! I am still in awe of the beauty and magic Leah captured that day. If you are looking for a photographer that can capture more than a picture…Leah Flores is your photographer.
