Australia meets Oregon - Two Hemispheres, One Orchard | A Hood River Wedding at Mt. View Orchards

Sheby and Damien’s morning started at the historic Hood River Hotel — a beautiful, storied property that set the tone perfectly for the day ahead. Shelby's hair and makeup was handled flawlessly by the incredibly talented team at Vamp Beauty Bridal. And while getting ready was happening, somewhere in the historic hotel, Damien and his crew were skateboarding through the halls. Because of course they were. It was perfect and chaotic and completely them, and I have the photos to prove it.

Getting to the ceremony was an event in itself. The whole crew piled onto the Shanghai Portland party bus and karaoked their way to the venue, which is genuinely one of the best ways I've ever seen a wedding party arrive to a ceremony. By the time we pulled up to Mt. View Orchards, everyone was already warm and loose and ready, which is exactly the energy you want walking into your wedding.

Mt. View Orchards in Hood River is one of those venues that makes you remember why you fell in love with this work. Tucked into the Hood River Valley, surrounded by 100-year-old apple and pear trees, sunflower fields, and the most perfectly placed pumpkins you've ever seen — and then Mt. Hood, just sitting there in the background, enormous and majestic and completely unbothered.

Shelby and Damien said their vows in the middle of all of it. Surrounded by orchards and flowers, and the people who flew across the world to be there. It was beautiful and warm and so entirely them.

And then the after party.

River City Saloon. Live music from Countryfied — the band led by Shelby's stepfather figure, which already made the whole thing feel incredibly personal. But then Shelby got up and sang. Damien got up and sang. The bridal party got up and sang. What started as a reception turned into a full-on concert by people who love each other, performing for people who love them back, in a room that had absolutely no interest in the night ending.

It was loud and joyful and completely epic. The kind of after-party that becomes a story people are still telling years later.

Shelby and Damien — thank you for letting me be your photographer, and for letting me be your family. Watching you two get married was one of the greatest privileges of my career and my life. The ranch dinners, the holidays, the chaos and the love — I cherish all of it. This day was everything.

Real Review:

Leah Flores is hands down the best photographer we have ever worked with. We have seen her work her magic for so many occasions, and nearly everyone in my family now books their photography with Leah. She is so professional, so friendly, and helps put her clients at ease during photoshoots. She knows exactly how to get the best shots and angles. We love her! Highly recommend Leah.
