Aubrey | Senior Portraits | Metzler Park, Estacada, Oregon
Aubrey came to her senior session with three looks and a clear sense of herself — a flowy white dress for the creek, black for the forest portraits, and her volleyball uniform and varsity letterman jacket, because she's earned both and senior year is not the time to be modest about that.
We shot at Metzler Park, a Clackamas County park south of Estacada along Clear Creek — the kind of place that feels wonderfully far away even though it isn't. Towering Douglas-fir close in around you, the creek runs cold and grey-green over the rocks, and there's a suspension bridge that looks like it was placed there specifically for senior portraits. It wasn't. But we used it that way.
We moved through the mossy forest, into the open field, and down to the creek. Aubrey has these blue-grey eyes that catch light effortlessly — she'd lie back in the grass and just be there, and it was done. At the creek in the white dress, arms raised, eyes closed — that's the image. That's the one.
The volleyball uniform brought a whole different energy. Number 2, ball in the air, completely in her element. The letterman jacket closed it out — volleyball, basketball, track pins all embroidered in green and gold, the whole story of four years right there on her chest.
Senior year, Aubrey. You are so ready for what's next.
