Urban Family Session in Boise, Idaho | Murals & Golden Light
Poppy. The name alone tells you everything about the energy of this session.
Kimmy and Keaton are the kind of parents who are clearly having fun with it — relaxed, laughing, completely at ease with each other and with their little girl swinging between them on the sidewalk with her feet off the ground and the biggest grin on her face. That's the whole vibe of this family in a single frame.
We shot in downtown Boise, wandering through the neighborhood the way a good urban family session should — brick walls and colorful murals and golden late-day light bouncing off the streets. The mural was a highlight. Bold desert colors — burnt red mountains, electric blue sky — and this little blonde toddler in a white eyelet dress held up between two tattooed, laughing parents who looked like they absolutely could not believe this was their life. In the best possible way.
Kimmy has the warmest laugh. Keaton has the grin of someone who knows exactly how good he has it. And Poppy — Poppy is a whole personality. She dangled from their arms, she ran, she looked directly at the camera with the most serious eyes you've ever seen on a two-year-old, and then dissolved into giggles approximately two seconds later.
