Willamette Valley Vineyard Wedding at La Belle Promenade | Oregon
I first met Tyson at a wedding I photographed at Flâneur's Carlton Grain Elevator — a 125-year-old restored landmark in downtown Carlton that is exactly as cool as it sounds. So when he and Heather chose La Belle Promenade, Flâneur's estate vineyard tucked into the Chehalem Mountains, for their own wedding day, it felt like a full-circle kind of thing. Good people find good places.
La Belle Promenade hosts just six weddings a year. Six. That number alone tells you everything about what kind of experience it is. The estate sits high in the hills above Newberg, rows of vines rolling out in every direction, the Willamette Valley spreading wide beneath a summer sky that on this particular day was doing absolutely everything right. There is a blue barn, a ghost barn, a garden kitchen, and one of the most magnificent oak trees I have ever photographed a wedding under.
That oak tree is where it happened. Tyson and Heather stood beneath its canopy in the full warmth of a summer afternoon, and their family gathered around them — not just watching, but actively praying over them as they exchanged vows. It was one of those ceremony moments that makes the whole room go quiet in the best possible way. The veil caught the breeze. Everyone was present.
Heather was stunning in a fitted lace gown with an open back and a cathedral train, carrying a lush bouquet of white roses and eucalyptus. Tyson was locked in — the grin he had when she walked toward him didn't leave his face for the rest of the day. The bridesmaids were in deep magenta, bright against the golden vineyard hillside, and the whole scene looked like Oregon in peak summer had dressed itself up for the occasion.
After the ceremony the reception moved into the blue barn, strung with warm globe lights, while dinner came out courtesy of Red Hills Market — the beloved Dundee institution that knows how to feed a crowd well. Beautiful individual ratatouille crocks garnished with microgreens arrived at long outdoor tables set against the vineyard view, with wine flowing freely and guests who clearly knew how to enjoy themselves. The golden hour first dance happened outside under the oak with the last light of the day pouring through the trees, an old truck in the background, and not a single thing that needed to be better than it already was.
Congratulations, Tyson and Heather. 🤍
