Wind, Waves, and a Very Good Dog: Kari & Rob at Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach
The Oregon coast has a way of being dramatically beautiful even on its worst days. But on a clear day, with the sky actually opening up and Haystack Rock sitting bold and sharp against the blue, it is something else entirely. That is exactly what Kari and Rob had waiting for them when we met at Cannon Beach.
They brought their little dog along, a fluffy Shih Tzu with enormous eyes and a very serious expression who made it clear from the start that he was the real subject of this session. He was held, cuddled, and generally adored for the better part of the afternoon, and he tolerated all of it with the dignified composure of someone who knows he is loved.
Kari and Rob are the kind of couple who are easy to photograph because they are just easy with each other. The piggyback along the waterline, her hair flying, both of them laughing. The lift, her feet off the ground, Haystack Rock framed perfectly over his shoulder. The quiet moments too, foreheads together, the wind doing its thing, just the two of them and the sound of the waves. Those are the frames I always love most.
Cannon Beach, you never disappoint. Kari and Rob, neither do you.
