Baby Myla is Coming | Andrea & Deion's Maternity Session at Cooper Mountain, Oregon
Let me tell you about the dress.
It's blush pink, floor-length, made entirely of ruffled tulle — layers and layers of it, the kind that catches every breath of wind and moves like something out of a film. Andrea wore it on a hilltop at Cooper Mountain Nature Park above the golden autumn grass and the wide Tualatin Valley, with a dramatic cloud-streaked sky overhead, and I genuinely had to remind myself to keep shooting because I kept just looking.
I've had the gift of photographing this family more than once — their maternity session for baby number two and Myla's family session are both on the blog — and every single time, Andrea arrives completely prepared to make something beautiful. This session was the most stunning of all of them.
Cooper Mountain Nature Park sits on a hilltop in Beaverton with sweeping views of the valley below and big open skies above. The meadows go golden in autumn — tall grasses catching the light, wildflowers going soft at the edges — and on the evening we were there, the clouds were doing everything right. By the time the sun started dropping and the sky turned that particular shade of pink-and-gold that the Pacific Northwest does so well, the whole scene felt almost unreal.
And then there was their dog, who showed up with absolutely zero training in how to be photogenic and somehow nailed every frame anyway. Sitting at their feet in the tall grass, tongue out, completely unbothered, making every wide shot look intentional. A natural.
Deion was steady and warm through the whole session — the kind of partner who makes everything feel easy just by being present. The shot of the two of them lying in the grass, him kissing her cheek while she smiles at the camera, the pink tulle pooling around them — that one is everything.
Baby Myla, you were so loved before you ever arrived. And your parents looked absolutely incredible waiting for you.
