Firs, Ferns & Willamette Valley Wine: Wedding at Parrett Mountain Cellars

Parrett Mountain Cellars has a particular quality on a grey autumn day — the tall Douglas firs disappear into the mist, the vineyard stretches out in the valley below, and everything feels hushed and a little bit magical. It was exactly the right backdrop for Kelsey and Jesse's wedding, which had that same quality throughout: unhurried, intimate, and entirely theirs.

The ceremony was held on the lawn, framed by a handmade branch arch and the treeline rising behind it. With just their closest people gathered around them, there was nowhere to hide the feeling in the room — just two people, genuinely happy, saying what they meant. Kelsey's dress was a standout: off-the-shoulder and tea-length, laced at the back with deep burgundy ribbon that was exactly the right detail for the season and the setting.

After the ceremony, we wandered into the woods that wind through the property — mossy paths, sword ferns, the occasional glimpse of vineyard through the trees. It's the kind of place where you don't have to work very hard to make beautiful photos; you just follow the light and let the forest do what it does.

The reception settled into Parrett Mountain Cellars' warm, wood-paneled tasting room, where the wine flowed and the evening slowed down in the best possible way. Cupcakes in hand, newly ringed fingers, the last of the day's light coming through the windows — it was a good way to end things.

Kelsey and Jesse, it was such a pleasure. Parrett Mountain Cellars, consider this a standing request to come back.
