Hi, come in. This is where I share the full stories behind the sessions, and if you read enough of them, you'll start to notice something: a lot of the same names keep showing up. Engagements turn into weddings turn into maternity sessions turn into family photos with three kids and a dog. After fifteen years of this work, my favorite thing is that I rarely get to say goodbye to anyone. I just get to see them again in a new chapter. These are those chapters.

Rustic Romance at the Edge of Yellowstone | Union Pacific Dining Lodge | West Yellowstone, Montana
A rustic lodge wedding at the edge of one of the most breathtaking places on earth, an inflatable flamingo named Fred with a love story behind him, Artist Paint Pots at dawn, Yellowstone Falls in all its glory, and a bison herd that made a very memorable exit from the park. This one had everything. Oh — and a very important reminder to keep your distance from bison. Please.
Baraat, Champagne, and a Dance Floor: A Multicultural Wedding at Briarwood Estate in Mount Vernon Washington
The Baraat set the tone and the dance floor finished it off. Nattaly and Dash had a bright, colorful, and deeply joyful multicultural wedding at Briarwood Estate in Mount Vernon, Washington, blending Guatemalan and Indian traditions into a celebration that was layered and alive from start to finish.
Mount Rainier Elopement with Family and Friends | Intimate National Park Wedding in Washington
Dan and Karli gathered their closest family and friends and hiked up to a viewpoint at Mount Rainier National Park, said something simple and sweet and completely meant it, then walked back down and shared sandwiches, cake, and cold Rainier beers together.
A Quiet, Intimate Elopement at the Foxtrot in Portland, Oregon
The Foxtrot on SE Belmont is a 130 year old Victorian with cozy gothic vibes, an exceptional cocktail program, and a reportedly haunted kitchen. It is also where Ashley and Andy got married, in front of a pink velvet couch, surrounded by their closest friends. Honestly the most on brand elopement I have ever photographed.
There and Back Again: A Hobbit Wedding at Round Barn Farm in Red Wing, Minnesota
Round Barn Farm in Red Wing, Minnesota is already the kind of place that feels like it exists slightly outside of ordinary time. Add a couple deeply in love with Lord of the Rings, months of handcrafted DIY details, and a room full of people genuinely happy to be there, and you get one of the most joyful wedding days I have ever had the privilege of photographing.
A Rainy January Elopement at Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park in January is not for everyone. Devyin and Val are exactly the kind of people it is for. Rain, snow, a waterfall, and vows so soaked through they were barely legible. One of my favorite days.
Hoyt Arboretum Forest Elopement in Portland, Oregon
Sara has been one of my closest friends for over ten years. When she asked me to photograph her December elopement at Hoyt Arboretum in Portland, I said yes before she finished the sentence. Six of her favorite people, a redwood deck in the trees, dinner at Le Pigeon, and a bottle of wine they bought on their first date. This one was special.
Full Circle at the Mountain | Mary + David's Maternity Session | Mount Rainier National Park
Some sessions feel like a full circle moment. Mary and David's maternity shoot at Mount Rainier National Park was one of those. I photographed their wedding in San Francisco years ago, and here we were again, this time with a baby on the way and one of the most dramatic mountain backdrops in the Pacific Northwest.
Brooke and David: A Surprise Anniversary Session in Maui
A romantic anniversary session with Brooke and David at Baldwin Beach in Maui. Warm sunset light, windswept hair, black lava rocks, and a surprise from a husband who knew exactly what his wife would love.
Three Generations at Depoe Bay | Alex + Justin | Oregon Coast Family Session
When Alex and Justin made the trip from Nampa, Idaho to the Oregon Coast, they didn't come alone. They brought the whole crew: their kids, Alex's parents, and all the salt air and overcast light the Pacific could offer. This is what extended family photos were made for.
Scott and Rachel: A Rustic Wedding at Pomeroy Farm
A warm, rustic red barn wedding at Pomeroy Farm with Scott and Rachel. Cowboy boots under the dress, a ceremony under a massive moss-covered tree, and the particular joy of photographing two people I've known since college.
Jaime and Finn at Mount Tabor: A Portland Pet Portrait Session
Jaime brought her best friend Finn to Mount Tabor for an evening of wandering trails, belly rubs, and the kind of quiet adoration that only exists between a person and their dog.
One Year of Honey and Sunshine — Beatrice's First Birthday in Antioch, California
Desert Canyon, Mountain Lake, and a Rainstorm | Andrea + Deion's Oregon Engagement
There are sessions that change things. Andrea and Deion's engagement session at Smith Rock was one of them. We drove out to Bend together, found a storm rolling in over the canyon, and ended the day standing in a lake in the rain making images I still cannot stop thinking about. My camera did not fully recover. The photos were worth it.
Brand New | The Thornberry Family | Portland Newborn Session
There are sessions I walk away from and just feel it, the weight of something really good. The Thornberry newborn session in Portland was one of those. A tiny new person, bare winter trees, a wooden footbridge, and two people who could not stop smiling at the baby in their arms.
Krista & Patrick's Wedding at Bella Terra Vineyards, Pennsylvania
Some weddings make you want to hop on a plane. Krista and Patrick's was one of them. A vineyard in Pennsylvania, a dog named Cleo, a bridal party full of people who clearly know how to have a good time, and a dance party that had everyone's shoes off by the end of the night. I flew across the country for this one, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.
The Smallest Things Hold the Biggest Love | In-Home Family Session with Baby
Cameron and Brianna welcomed baby Emmitt into a home already full of warmth, and we were there to capture every quiet, unhurried moment of it. This is what a newborn session looks like when you let love lead.
Just the Two of Them (and a Really Cute Toddler) — Nate & Caitlan's Backyard Wedding in Nampa, Idaho
Some weddings are grand productions. And then there are weddings like Nate and Caitlan's — the kind where nobody's trying to impress anyone, where the kids are running barefoot in the grass, where the vows are real and the laughter is louder than any playlist. This one was all heart.
Into the Woods, Into the Water | Kodie + Josh | Beverly Beach Couple's Session
Some couples just follow you home. I photographed Kodie and Josh's wedding in Boise, then moved back to my hometown of Portland, and the next thing I knew they were calling me up for a couple's session on the Oregon Coast. That is the kind of client relationship that makes this job everything.
Garrett & Emily | A Wedding in the Woods at Deep Woods Events
Some venues do the work for you. Deep Woods Events is one of them — towering conifers, ferns as far as you can see, and the kind of quiet that makes everything feel more sacred. Garrett and Emily got married in the middle of all of it, and I didn't want to leave.
