Hi, come in. This is where I share the full stories behind the sessions, and if you read enough of them, you'll start to notice something: a lot of the same names keep showing up. Engagements turn into weddings turn into maternity sessions turn into family photos with three kids and a dog. After fifteen years of this work, my favorite thing is that I rarely get to say goodbye to anyone. I just get to see them again in a new chapter. These are those chapters.

Three Generations | Andrea, Deion & Myla's Family Session in Clackamas County, Oregon
I've been with Andrea and Deion through a lot of chapters — the engagement, the wedding, the maternity session. Now there's Myla, a baby with the best smile and a pink stuffed elephant nearly as big as she is, and the whole family gathered in the fall color of a Clackamas County park to be photographed together. Three generations, one perfect afternoon.
Jennifer, Jake & The Boys | Family Photos at Daybreak Regional Park in Battle Ground, Washington
Jennifer and I have been friends since before we could walk — literally. Our parents met in birthing class, and we were born just a few days apart. Getting to photograph her family, with Jake and their three boys and their dog on the rocky banks of the East Fork Lewis River, is the kind of thing that makes this job feel like an enormous gift.
Linh & Elliott | A Surprise Proposal at a Dog Park in Eagle, Idaho
The plan was simple: a normal dog walk, a hidden photographer, a perfect proposal. The only problem was that Linh is a little stubborn, and Elliott couldn't convince her to walk to where I was waiting. So he carried her. I am not making this up. Two dogs, one determined man, one very suspicious woman mid-air — and then one of the best proposals I've ever had the privilege of hiding in the bushes to photograph.

Linh and Elliott brought Remy — their golden retriever — to their engagement session in the forest outside Boise, and honestly, Remy nearly stole the whole thing. Nearly. These two are the kind of couple who are completely comfortable being adored by a camera, and the ponderosa pines gave us a moody, beautiful backdrop to work with. This was before Vietnam. Before the wedding of a lifetime. But first, the forest.
Danielle | Senior Portraits Under the Arches of Cathedral Park in Portland, Oregon
Danielle is my cousin, and photographing her senior session was one of those jobs that didn't feel like a job at all. I've watched her grow up — and getting to be the one to document this chapter, at Cathedral Park under the iconic arches of the St. Johns Bridge with camellias in full bloom, was a genuine gift.
She Said Yes in the Vineyard | A Fall Proposal at Windy Hills Winery, Washington
I was hiding in the vineyard rows at Windy Hills Winery in Ridgefield, Washington when Nick got down on one knee. The fall foliage was going orange and gold, the vines had turned russet red, and Lindsey had absolutely no idea I was there. What followed was one of my favorite things to photograph: a person in the best moment of their life, completely caught off guard by it.

Nick and Lindsey started at Windy Hills Winery in Ridgefield, Washington — that's where he proposed, and where their story as an engaged couple began. Their wedding day came full circle at Lucy's Garden, just down the road: five acres of family-owned grounds, a big red barn, a flower field at golden hour, and every person they love gathered in one place waving their arms in the air.

Aubrey came to her senior session with multiple looks, a volleyball, and a letterman jacket full of pins that told the whole story of her high school years. We took everything to Metzler Park, a beautiful Clackamas County park tucked along Clear Creek south of Estacada — and the forest delivered on every single shot.
Murphy McGuinness, Finn McCool & the People Who Love Them | Dog Portraits in Hoyt Arboretum | Portland, Oregon
I met Chris and Jessica over a decade ago when they were my neighbors in downtown Portland. I had to introduce myself — Jessica was out on a walk with Murphy McGuinness, a Newfoundland puppy so impossibly adorable I had no choice. We've been friends ever since. Now there's Finn McCool, a massive Leonberger, and the four of them together are exactly as wonderful as you'd expect. We took it to Hoyt Arboretum, one of my favorite places in the city, and the fall forest did not disappoint.
From Two to Three: Brianna, Cameron & E at Scouters Mountain | Happy Valley, Oregon
I've photographed Brianna and Cameron through a lot of chapters — the engagement, the wedding, the maternity session where Brianna stood at the base of Wahclella Falls and told me, half joking, that she'd be in Vogue one day (she was right). Now there's E, a toddler with opinions about everything and a laugh that fills the whole forest. Scouters Mountain gave us ancient trees, Mount Hood on the horizon, and one family who already knows how to show up.
The Coopers Come to Bend: An Extended Family Session in Central Oregon
There is something so special about being trusted with a family's memories across multiple chapters. I photographed Sami and Joseph's wedding. I photographed Joseph's sister Rachel's wedding. And now here I am in Bend, Oregon, camera in hand, photographing Sami's entire side of the family — the Coopers — as they gathered from wherever life has taken them to be together in one place. This is exactly why I do what I do.
Baby Bryce Makes Three: A Family Session at a Winery in Napa Valley
I've known Danika for over twenty years — she is my best friend's little sister, a middle schooler when we first met, and watching her grow into the woman and mother she is today is one of the quiet joys of my life. Getting to photograph her, Brandon, and baby Bryce at Far Niente Winery in Napa Valley — the same winery where I photographed Kevin and Amy's wedding portraits made it the perfect full-circle moment.

Lacamas Lake Regional Park in Washington is one of my favorite locations for family sessions — the lake, the trees, that beautiful wooden footbridge — and Niki and Shaun's blended family of four brought exactly the kind of energy that makes this job feel like a gift. Hand-Dyed Silk, Spoken Word, and the Most Spectacular Backyard on the Washington Coast
When Jill and Si told me they were having a backyard wedding, I nodded and packed my bags. What I was not told — what I could not have anticipated — was that the backyard in question sits on the coast of Washington and belongs to a family that approaches everything, including a wedding, with the kind of creativity and intention that makes you feel like you've stumbled into something rare. Jill hand-dyed her own silk skirt. There was a live band, spoken word poetry, and interpretive dance. The cocktail menu featured hand-painted portraits of their cats. The flower girl wore a sunflower crown in blue and yellow.
Yes. Yes. F** Yes.: Austin & Chelsea's Abernethy Center Wedding*
Austin proposed to Chelsea. And when he did, she left no room for ambiguity about how she felt about it — because on their wedding day at Abernethy Center's Abigail's Garden in Oregon City, she gave him a custom-engraved Timex with the back inscribed with the exact words she said when he got down on one knee. It read: Yes. Yes. F** Yes.* Date: 09.26.2020. That is the energy this entire wedding had, from the private vows in the garden to the moment I2I by Powerline came on and every single person on the dance floor absolutely detonated.
Gothic Arches and Golden Light: Layla & Eric Engagement Session at Cathedral Park Portland
Cathedral Park sits beneath the St. Johns Bridge in North Portland, and if you've never been, the Gothic concrete arches that line the riverbank are unlike anything else in the city — dramatic, airy, and somehow both grand and intimate all at once. It was the perfect setting for Layla and Eric, who would go on to have one of my all-time favorite weddings the following year. Spoiler: it was stunning.
